CEM/CMP LVHA Certificate Program

The Events Industry Council (EIC) certifies individuals through an internationally recognized certification program, the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) program. The CMP program evaluates the competency of meeting professionals. It represents the standard of excellence and recognized globally in today's meetings, conventions, exhibitions, and events industry.

The Certified in Exhibition Management™ (CEM) designation, launched in 1975, supported by International Association of Exhibition and Events, IAEE is an interactive globally recognized experiential educational program that demonstrates the current highest professional standards throughout the exhibition and event management arena.

CEM/CMP Certificate Program Application

The LVHA Foundation is proud to offer support for members pursuing their CEM (Certified in Exhibition Management) or CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) accreditation. This program is open to any LVHA member in good standing and is designed to offset certification costs not reimbursed by an employer.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must be active LVHA members for one year or longer, participating in meetings, committees, or volunteer roles (to be verified by the program chair).
• Only one application and program completion may be in progress at any time.
• Program eligibility begins June 1, 2025, and only includes accreditation expenses documented after this date. (Exception made to include expenses for the May 13 & May 14 in-person courses a LVCVA)
• Applicants must submit the following to the LVHA Foundation CEM/CMP Program Chair:
  • A copy of the accepted application for either the CEM or CMP program at the start of the process.
  • A copy of the final certificate confirming completion of all program requirements.
  • Copies of all relevant receipts for applications, courses, and exams. These expenses must be paid personally and not reimbursed by the applicant’s company.

CMP – CEM accreditation certificate program award amounts

• Up to four (4) CEM certificates annually of $2,500 each for IAEE members (priority given to IAEE members).
• Up to two (2) CEM certificates annually of $4,000 each for non-IAEE members.
• Up to ten (10) CMP certificates annually of $1,000 each annually.

Certificates are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis each year and are intended solely for course materials, application, and exam fees not reimbursed by the applicant’s employer.

Note: Reimbursement is made after successful program completion and upon submission of the final certificate and all required documentation.
